I loved this video!!! I think you were spot on. I also think it is interesting that Mark Hamil wasn’t about how Luke was portrayed in this film, but it also DID seem like they just cut a bunch of the jedi training scenes out for no reason and even slightly out of order. I also didn’t understand why Rey didn’t tell Luke that Kylo was Skyping her at the beggining before the whole ‘I wronged my student’ bits came out??? Anyways great vid and keep em up, love reading/listening to these!!!
By far the most annoying thing about the film is how they set up these poignant philosophical points (war profiteering is bad, the jedi aren’t that great, etc) then completely reverse and don’t bring any actual resolution to these points. They could have done something really profound but fumbled when it mattered most.
I shall endeavor to do so! And I completely agree, all of those interesting ideas weren’t just dropped, they were contradicted by the end of the movie. Kind of a wasted opportunity
